Antiche Fornaci D’Agostino: more than two hundred years of ceramics.
The company from Salerno, excellence of the business world of the South, in the years, has collaborated with great brands of the design and architecture. The most important among these is Giò Ponti. The great architect from Milan, director and founder of the magazine Domus, in the late '50s was in the factories of Salerno in the green hills of Brignano where in the Middle Ages were digging clay for terracotta and ceramics.
In Antiche Fornaci D’Agostino, Giò Ponti conceived not only the decors, but also the renewal of the ceramic language through colors and geometric and naturalistic patterns in that perfect blend of light and space that still characterizes his works. Here were idealized the decors “Blu Ponti” of the Hotel Parco dei Principi in Sorrento, the first design hotel in the world, nowadays a museum hotel. Here were created by this Designer the decors for some important shopping centers in Singapore. Here was created a new ceramic language that was over the Vietri Ceramic craftsmanship, inspired by forms and contents of industrial design.
This new collection, inspired by some of the drawings that he realized in Antiche Fornaci D’Agostino, is a tribute to the history of ceramics and design.
